The Radio Controlled electric car Rechargeable Battery has and is continuing to evolve. When I came into the sport in the early 90s a Tamiya 1200Mah (Mili-Amp-Hours) NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) battery with the standard tamiya box connector and a standard voltage of approximately 7.2 Volts and made up of 6 x 1.2 volt cells was just about all that was available. Then people such as Trinity and Orion began to do a little research and discovered that some of these individual els were better than the others. Various methods of testing were devised, to check each cell for things such as Voltage, Capacity, and internal resistance, and the matched Battery pack was born. Since that time the humble rechargeable battery has moved up to 3300Mah NiCad (Nickel Cadmium), NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride) and the Lithium iron.
So what difference does it make to have more Mah ? Well obviously the car, airplane or Boat will run for longer for one thing, and in the case of Model racing cars it means that for a fixed time race the gearing can be raised to give higher speeds on tracks with long straights, or use a lower wind motor (higher torque, lower RPM) and improve acceleration on short straight lots of corners tracks.
If you are looking for a quick, cheap, low cost way into Radio Controlled Racing, by purchasing second hand, previously owned batteries, equipment, spares parts and components, used for RC Cars, Airplanes and Boats, or want to upgrade your existing setup you have come to the right place.
